Since I whined on Christmas day, I thought I should recant a little bit.  We did get all dug out on Saturday and made it to church on Sunday.  Sunday church service was the children's service that was supposed to be held Christmas Eve so I didn't miss my Christmas service after all.

Wow.  This was a tough one!  I've decided we're in that in between age where Christmas isn't quite as much fun because the kids aren't as into the season.  I never did put up a Christmas decoration and horrors ... ! Christmas Eve service was cancelled ... !  So without church another part of Christmas was missing.  I suppose I better be careful what I wish for else there may be grandkids may be here before we're ready and I'll be wishing for boring.

What we did get was ... SNOW!  Lots of it.  We're calling it 10 inches but it definitely could be more.  Whatever the amount, it made for an aerobic workout just walking to the barn.  And of course, as soon as we went out the snow started coming down.  The snow and wind are supposed to keep coming until tomorrow afternoon so it will make for a very laid back Christmas.  Poor husband...he has to put the snow blower on...  me...I'm going to take QUIET very seriously!

Merry Christmas.

I wish! I wish!

I took the day off and thought I'd spend the day getting my Christmas shopping done.  Instead I decided to go back home and clean house and then drag jay Christmas shopping after we get done with chores.

And that was enough to turn it into a fantastic day!  It was total enjoyment having a clean house and time to be outside and all before 5:30 pm while it was still light.  Sounds like a recipe to learn the lesson of patience and trust to see if my job situation changes in the future.  And if it doesn't, oh well...can't stop a wishin'

It's winter time and that means...time to start messing on the computer.  More time inside and less time outside.

Today it is a warm up with highs in the 20s.  How quick we adjust!  At Thanksgiving it was in the 60's, but put a cold snap in between then and now and the 60s are but a distant memory.  The cold snap with highs in the single digits -- now that we remember.

Christmas is just next week and we have many things to look forward to -- Christmas with my family this weekend, and the joy of again attending a church with a children's program on Christmas Eve.

Of course, there's changes, too.  This will be the first year that our family (Mom + Dad + Kids) won't be together on Christmas Eve as daughter drew the short straw and will be working.  This won't be the last change as the kids spread their wings more and more.  Guess Mom and Dad need to grow up a little now too.
